In 2006, Vijayakanth was a new entrant to politics. He was facing the election for the first time in his life. He took everyone by surprise when he announce his candidature from Vrithachalam, the temple town that is a PMB stronghold
In a press meeting he revealed the idea behind choosing his consitutency
" Leaders should not have any particular constituency. They should be able to win the support of people from any part of the state"
A really big statement! Whether Vijayakant fares well in politics or not is not our headache!
Let us see what the Congress boasts off... young turks...foreign educated, visionaries, the future of india.. Rahul Gandhi, Sachin Pilot etc
All these well-educated ones want to be elected from un-educated, illiterate masses. It is sad that they are not brave enough to stand from Delhi, Bangalore or Kolkatta. They prefer to be elected from the ones who doesn't care anout their education.
Naidu, the Tech Savy CM prefers Kuppam than Secunderabad or Hyderabad.
Sonia prefers Amethi than Delhi. Sad that she feared losing amethi and contested in (yeah you got it).. remote village of karnataka.. bellary
Dear leaders, let Amethi, Kuppam or Andipatti (Jayalalithaa's consituency) elect a leader of their choice .. a Kisan may be. Be brave enough to stand in state capitals where more educate people live!!!!

When the World boils on Mr M.Karunanidhi's statement that Lord Ram is a drunkard, I would like to point out the Ram Karunandihi adored the most - Ramar Pillai.
In 1996, Ramar Pillai claimed to be able to transmute water to gasoline by a herbal formula that he claimed was the result of a miraculous bush. Pillai obtained 20 acres of land to cultivate his bush, but in fact it turned out that he was using sleight of hand to substitute kerosene for the liquid he claimed to have derived from the bush.
I think the comments he makes now is directed at the Ramar pillai. The world knows how Karuna pampered Ramar pillai's indigeneous petrol - 'Tamilan Petrol' and how Ramar pillai ran away when he was asked to demonstrate before a group of scientists.
There is nothing bold in not retracting a statement. If Karuna is bold enough let him come out and say he doesnot want votes from all who worship Rama.

Delhi men are (in)famous for their adventures. Back in May 2001, there was a scare of monkey man. The scare of the monkey-man has engulfed the entire Capital then.
Now the mischief mongers are back with Hammer man. He is someone one kills woman, strips her and escapes.
A serial killer is on the prowl in the Baljeet Nagar area of West Delhi. Over the last two months he has attacked five women — allegedly with a hammer — leaving at least two dead and another fighting for her life in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. His last victim, a former nurse called Sudarshana (45), was found dead in her room in Punjabi Basti on Thursday morning.
Police say that the possibility of a psychopath cannot be ruled out though they have registered cases in only two of the assaults.
"Sudarshana was declared brought dead at Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital. A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been registered at the Anand Parbat police station but the actual cause of death will be known only upon arrival of the autopsy report," said a senior police officer.
Sudarshana's next door neighbour, Pan Kumari, said, "On Thursday morning, we woke up to see that Sudarshana hadn't shut her doors. On stepping inside, we found her dead with only the face covered."
Neighbours started keeping vigil on the streets and rooftops from 11 pm to 5 am, in the days that followed.
Sagina Khatun (25), who became the assalaint’s second victim, said, "No one believed me when I told people I’d been attacked, while sleeping in the open. But when I was struck again, this time in my room, I was taken seriously. The first time round I was hit by a blunt object, probably a hammer, on my chest. He hit my stomach the next time, damaging my intestines. This time, we approached the police but no one has been arrested."
Seema (25), who was attacked in July, when she stepped out to relieve herself around 4.30 am, was doomed to be the assalaint’s first casualty.
A couple of days back, CPI(M) leader had a walk through the Old-City sending shivers to MIM legislators and supporters. MIM has been able to hold the old city for quite a long time without any opposition. This time defeats stares at their face.

Do communists have any ideology?
They welcome Chinese company to build ports in Cochin, but oppose privatization when others do. They oppose BJP as communal forces, but align with PDF (Maudhani) .
It is in the best interests of the nation that CPI & CPI-M loses power in Bengal and KErala and they are routed out of India.

Hey, something I noticed in all our Hyderabadi guys... they are so much loyal to the CM and everyone want to cover up the blasts. Resilience is occurrence of rebounding or springing back, but the Hyderabadi resilience is of different variety - tolerance. These guys are tolerating anything, they want to show a brave face, though each guy I spoke had a strict instruction from their parents or spouse not to venture out.
Come on guys, we need to voice our concerns. We need to make the politicians feel that they cannot make hollow promises - just think the way Mr YSR said about the Pak and Bangladeshi terrorists who have used B-52 bombers to hit our city:)
Pakistan successfully tested a new air-launched cruise missile with stealth design on Saturday, the military said in a statement.
The missile, named Hatf-8 (Ra'ad), has a range of 350 kilometres (220 miles) and can carry all types of warheads, the military said.
“The missile has a low detection probability due to stealth design and materials,” it said.
The military said the missile would give its aircraft “a strategic stand-off capability on land and at sea”.
The test came a month after Pakistan tested the nuclear-capable Babur Hatf VII cruise missile, which has a range of 700 kilometres (435 miles). The Babur was first tested in 2005.
President Pervaiz Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz congratulated the scientists and engineers involved in the development of the new missile.
“Pakistan's defence will continue to be strengthened as an imperative of national security,” the military quoted the two leaders as saying.

Hours after twin blasts, live bomb recovered in Hyderabad
Sunday August 26 2007 00:01 IST
PTI
HYDERABAD: Hours after the twin blasts this evening, the city police recovered a live bomb from Dilsukhnagar area and defused it in time, averting another tragedy.
The bomb was planted underneath a foot-over-bridge with a timer set for 9.30 pm, police sources said.
The near-simultaneous blasts at Lumbini park and Gokul chat bhandar were triggered by cell-phone timers, city police commissioner Balwinder Singh told reporters.
So far, 11 bodies have been identified and five of them are women. One of the deceased was a house surgeon of Osmania medical college who hailed from Prakasam district.
Meanwhile, TDP president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu alleged the incidents were a result of intelligence failure. BJP leaders M Venkaiah Naidu and B Dattatreya strongly condemned the incident and said it was time for the governments to act tough against foreign terrorist groups.
They accused the Congress government of adopting a soft approach towards terror groups which have been targeting the city.
State secretary of CPI (M) B V Raghavulu said the blasts appeared to be a pre-planned terror attack.
Hyderabad under Central Forces control
Sad that the police and the IB are not in sync. AP Police is already overburdened by the Anti-Naxal operations and it is for the Government to review its efficiency in safeguarding cities. One should remind Mr L.K.Advani's plan of making all State Capital under Central Forces control.
