Accenture lays off 98 at Reston office
Accenture is laying off nearly 100 employees at its Reston office. The New York-based consulting giant, located at 11951 Freedom Drive, will cut 98 workers Jan. 2, according to a notice filed by the company with Virginia. Combined with its D.C. office, Accenture employs around 3,000 in the area and works with many federal departments and technology corridor clients in area.

Accenture Bangalore is consistently laying off people.Instead of laying off in one day to get political wrath,it generally lays off small chunk of people everyday.

Polaris India is laying off its contractors in Mumbai.It has also asked its employees to take 15% pay cut from Jan 09.

As per plan bench size needs to be reduced to half .That means 2000 heards are going to roll in month or so.

Accenture in India has sacked more than 3500 people and Iam one among them.I was put on PIP(performance improvement plan) and have been asked to do some irrelevant tasks.Inspite of doing all that crap, i was kicked out on march'09.Many of my colleagues faced the same thing and they ahve quit in october'08 only.PIP is for people who perform consitently without having any rapport with their seniors.Accenture is no more a MNC.they have more than 4000 people on bench now and no projects on pipeline.They are losing the existing projects as well to Indian companies.This is true and you can ask any accenture employee.
yes i also agree.Accenture in India has no projects in the pipeline.many projects they lost to TCS,Infy and Wipro.More than 3000 people are on bench now and they are doing some COE(Centre of Excellence) work.But the fact is, they are not doing anything relevant to their skill. They are just developing PPTs and Word docs.Many managers have been thrown out by accenture.Now they are just calling for people and advertising.But no recruitment is happening here in Accenture.They are just showing off in the public, to save the company's reputation.

what is this PIP...why is this kept...never understood...they gave some unrelated task...actually PIP is for people who perform consitently without having any rapport with their seniors....if u butter your senior well...go around with them than...PIP will never and ever effect you..but if are good in your work ...than sure...you will be putted under PIP...and i am a victim of this PIP and it is completely unjustified !!!some one must stoppppp...

Layoffs continue at PI&P, the former George Group, Lean Six Sigma Consultants. As these layoffs continue, the "senior executives" that have to make the calls continue to commute to the DC office on a weekly basis, one from Atlanta, another from Florida, another from Texas and there are others. An example of this strange arrangement - the one from Texas will travel in late on Monday, sit in office for two days sending emails and then go home on Thursday. What a deal.
